I need a hug.

First of all, I’d like to present a disclaimer of sorts. I have come to dislike the action of blogging, and therefore apologize for the sporadic updates and the questionable content lately. The thing is, I don’t blog all that often enough, so I can’t make a simple post without going into the random explanations (which wouldn’t happen if I wrote more frequently). Now, it’s not that I don’t want to write, because I dislike not writing even more than blogging huge incoherent blog entries.

For example, all of the above was irrelevant, but that’s what blogging is really for isn’t it? You wouldn’t be here if you didn’t want to read it anyway.

That’s enough.

Mexico was awesome. Or, WOULD have been awesome HAD I been able to see it. I lost my god damned glasses on the god damned first day. I just couldn’t resist going into these five foot waves, which in turn took my glasses. The water itself was mucky to the point where you couldn’t even see your hand in it, and I was therefore screwed. Now while I know you’re probably laughing at me (because that’s what blogs are for too, so you can laugh at people in the privacy of your own home) it really wasn’t that funny at the time. I have only cried that hard maybe twice in recent memory.

Long crappy story short, I had to wear my prescription goggles like every idiot in every movie who has ever lost their glasses (Omg, I’m Hugh Grant! Ew!) Then when we tried to get my other glasses and contacts sent to Mexico from Canada, they got held at customs presumably because the contacts were in sealed packages. Anyway, since we didn’t have a ‘sanitary license’, we had no choice but to send the damn things back to Canada.

It gets worse. See, Mexican customs apparently doesn’t understand the phrase ‘express mail’, so what should have taken a day took three! Three days in Mexico, plus another day in North America equals out to one very blind Jelena, on the first day of school no less! So, if you said hi to me today at school and just sort of walked by, I’m sorry. :S A surprising number of people didn’t recognize me at all even.

Thank you to all who helped make my first day relatively painless JJ

I do have new glasses now though, so if you see some apparently random person you don’t recognize running after you, stop and be nice…it might be me.

I don’t feel like talking about school so much, maybe some other day. A secretary called me ‘sir’ today. >_<
