Exploding Fish
I have been a movie watching MACHINE this weekend.
Friday, my
bosom buddy and I (ahaha, I looked up comrade in the dictionary, je suis tres witty) went to see
Shrek 2. It was of the utmost hilarity. There were so many GOOD jokes, by which I mean it was so eighties! I really wish my cat’s alter-ego was Antonio Banderas. Ew, can you imagine a Melanie Griffith cat? Geez. In the theatre I sat beside the cutest little kid, he had the most adorable curly blond hair, and he kept burping! Mind you, he was so little, it was more like squeaking. The rest of Friday was posted as a mass of undecipherable ramblings, but good times…
Saturday I went to Etobicoke, (what the hell kind of spelling is that?!), and saw Troy. Nikola took me on the TTC, and through the subway, and I’ve come to the conclusion that I am entirely too sheltered here in Markham. On the way home we got rained on, and I came to another conclusion: people are sexier when they’re
wet. It’s not practical, but come on, neither is a lot of
lingerie. Heh.
Troy was really “breathtaking, extraordinary, impressive, marvelous etc”, and I love my thesaurus. I think it was really well done as a movie. But, I am left really confused as I started reading Edith’s version. I don’t know if it’s just the involvement of the gods that throws me off, or if the movie was really that off. And, is Achilles really supposed to be so central? Classics seniors, heellllp!! I’m actually looking forward to seeing it twice, (with Classics again), though I would say I’m still entirely devoted to Gladiator. (Note: everyone stop complaining about Orlando Bloom’s character, Paris is *supposed* to be like that!)
Firework-y goodness followed on Sunday, which was some explosive fun. To my group: apologies for the bitchiness. It’s just that my parents all of a sudden decided that it was house-wide pms day, and I had to face their wrath for every little thing I did. Jenn: hope the mother/daughter stand-off goes in your favor. BIIIIIIIIIG Part-ay at my house for Canada day!!!!!! Smuggled fireworks must be well concealed, booze even more so. I am SO antsy for
summer.
And today, Monday came with Hurricane My Mom on the rampage. “We have to clean everything! People coming over! Everything! Ah!” I swear she was about to Swiffer behind our ears! So, a big Serbian BBQ, a
national enquirer, and a few Lindt chocolates later, another cleaning comes around. *insert seizure here* BAH! Though, you know, even for all the complaining I do, I’m kind of glad for all the dusting and mopping that’s done around here. The house ends up being quite the pleasant place to live, so you’d better believe that I shall inflict this same pain on my kids :)
Oh yeah, and for my hospitality,
Mijana’s taking me to the Amnesty dealy on Thursday, which will so super cool! How cool is it that she lives in a clone Stars Hollow?? Speaking of which, first season Gilmore Girls part-ay in the works. Girls only!! Possibly after exams, because schools just too much to deal with right now, but I need emails/phone numbers!! And is it just me, or has
jess gotten…...I wouldn’t say ugly, just not as attractive? (note: that was a SEXY picture)
(Probably) last thing, I was reading
Chris’ latest, and I felt so...ashamed or something. He’s completely right, and I felt really bad remembering all the times I’ve just blurted out “omg! LOOK at what so-and-so is wearing!” Though to be fair, I only feel guilty for the exact situations Chris described, but I’m still completely disgusted by the cookie cutter girls we have walking around. That’s not to say you have to stick out if that makes you uncomfortable. All it takes is personality. But you all have that, so nevermind.
Phew, that was long, but it was overdue so, meh.
Quick notes:
