ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh, display board = done!
As angry as I get at Careers, I have to admit that I did learn a bunch doing this project. I figured I would just do some random program, at whatever university, but as I was reading the view books, I started caring in spite of myself.
I ended up being very attracted to what Laurier has to offer. And this took some courage to admit, since so many of my gifted friends are opting for Waterloo, Queens and pretty much everywhere else I think i would be miserable. This is unfortunate but true. The thing is, for the longest time I thought I was chickening out. Chickening out by not choosing Math and Science, by not taking the "Gifted 5", and by not taking Ms. Webb's infamous advice. But, you know something, screw that. I may have some latent talent for math or science, but if it hasn't shown itself yet, chances are it won't make itself useful any time soon. And so I boldly trek into the world of Arts and Humanities.
For the record, my display was about the Radio and Television Arts School at Ryerson. It actually markets itself as 'for the intellectually gifted'. I was actually really tempted, but the catch ended up being ridiculously long hours, and working weekends, and just way too much responsibility. I still like Anthro and Biology (BA) at Laurier.
Queen's people, come back damnit!
