memories

I hung out today with a bunch of my old friends. And although that makes it sound as if we haven't seen each other in ages, the thing is we see each other almost every day. We just stopped 'haging out' for some reason or another. So I decided to open my house to people again, since I wasn't invited to Jocelyn's :P (jk, I still love ya!).

Anyway, for the first part of the day I had a really long talk with this one person, about people who had moved away, and how things would have been different had they stayed. The awkward thing is, when they come back you actually have to take a second to think about how to act around them, no matter how good of friends you were before. Do you act as if you had never been apart, or go through random "I miss you" formalities? I guess it all depends how you remember the times you had together, and then it's weird if you remember them in a different way. So, for example, one of you may still be living in a 'vacation' type of mode, where you're expecting to go back and have everything be exactly the same as when you/they left. Actually, that specifically isn't really an issue that affects me, but it just made me think.

So anyway, good night, and here's to old days. Do yourself a favour and say hi to an old friend, don't take them for granted.
